Medical and Physiological Considerations

From VR Pole Dancers Wiki

Among a large multitude of sports out there, pole fitness and dancing cannot be missed on the chart of physical and mental intensities, as the high need for good physical shape and mental focus would be a priority in matters of performance and growth on any fitness pole. However, the additional challenge in our case here would be also the implementation of the virtual reality equipment, which can not only make certain poses and moves harsher, but also disorient or even impede mental perception of self and space around. That said, a specific series of factors has to be considered as follows:

Avoid exercising or performing any activity on the fitness pole if you:[edit | edit source]

  • Have a severe medical condition that limits and/or impedes physical and cognitive functioning (consult a licensed medical professional for more details).
  • Have a limited access to basic needs such as food, water, and rest.
  • Under the influence of cognitive and/or body altering medication or substances.
  • In the process of adapting or failing to adapt to acrobatic use of virtual reality equipment.

Physical and cognitive considerations:[edit | edit source]

  • Consider to start only after you've adapted to the constant and acrobatic use of the virtual reality equipment. This means you would be at the point where you are proficient at swiftly moving around your marked playspace without losing balance or erratically bouncing into its boundaries and not experience any symptoms of dizziness, headaches, confusion, or nausea.
  • If you aren't able to perform two pull-ups in a row, an additional physiological preparation would be required (consult trainers/staff in our community for further guidance).
  • Your dietary habits will need to be reconsidered into more body-building type of choices. The following sources can be helpful in exploring different options:
